Meson Los Monjes

Not quite as old as the monastery in Santa Cruz but the fact that this restaurant was opened in 1988 and is still going strong speaks volumes about it's reputation.
It may have Castillian decor but the menu has an international flavour to it including some rarities such as venison kebabs and partridge. On the fish side the hake stuffed with crab is perhaps the highlight as well as the lobster based dishes.
The dessert menu is lovely but with a wine list that would delight most connoisseurs why not end the evening with the cheese board and a glass of velvety rioja... very satisfying!
